Financial Planning Department

Martin Hogg (Cert) PFS - Director/Financial Advisor

Martin qualified as a Financial Adviser in 1983, previously working in the litigation department of a major High Street Bank for over 10 years.  The Principles of honesty, integrity and discipline have helped build a successful business. 

Martin is a member of the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute, he feels that membership will improve his professional standing and contribute to personal and business development. “It is good for me, good for my business and good for my clients”.

Simon Osborne BSc (HONS) - Director/Financial Advisor

Simon is a graduate of Swansea University, he entered the financial services sector in 1983 originally with Imperial Life of Canada.  Having built a good client bank over a number of years he eventually became an Independent Financial Adviser in July 2000.  Simon has always concentrated on two main areas of financial advice, that of knowledge and service.  Given the ever changing financial market place we live in today it is imperative that as an adviser his knowledge is comprehensive and up-to-date.  On the service front, he is planning clients short, medium and long term goals and in order to achieve these, regular contact with the client is paramount.

Lesley Rowlands - Office Manager

After leaving school Lesley went to work as an office junior for a polyethylene manufacturer in Workington she worked her way up through various jobs within the company finally becoming sales co-coordinator. Lesley moved to South Wales in 1987 and joined a company called Trim Technology again taking on a sales co-ordination role, also incorporating the accounts and payroll. In 1988 she left Trim Technology to take her first steps into the financial services industry by joining a company called Cannon as a senior administrator. Cannon then progressed and became Cannon Lincoln, Lincoln National and then Lincoln, her role progressed with the company and she became regional administrator overseeing offices in Cardiff, Swansea, Bristol and Gloucester. In 2000 Simon Osborne and Martin Hogg two of Lincoln's executive advisers left to start their own IFA, Lighthouse Wales, they asked Lesley whether she would like to join them on their journey and she was more than happy to meet the challenge and they haven't looked back, finally becoming FSA direct in July 2005 and changing the company name to Lightblue Wales Limited.

Leyna Jones - PA/Paraplanner

Leyna has been working in the Financial Services Industry since 1997 after leaving college when she moved to London and began working for an Independent Financial Advisers in the heart of the City Centre as Office Junior, where she progressed to pass the Financial Planning Certificate 1 and 2 and became Personal Assistant to the Senior Partner and Partner. 

In 2002 she left London to travel and finally returned to the industry in 2006 to begin working for Lightblue Wales as the Personal Assistant and Paraplanner to Martin Hogg.

Hannah Goldsby - PA/Paraplanner

On leaving school Hannah began work in the accounts department of a food wholesaler, following this she was employed by Hayes Recruitment as an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist, before moving on to work for KPMG in an Administrative position dealing with the liquidation and receiverships of companies.

In 2004 she commenced employment with Lightblue Wales as an administrator and has now progressed to Personal Assistant and Paraplanner to Simon Osborne.

Mortgage Planning Department

Barry Jeans - Mortgage Manager

Barry joined the Financial Services Industry in 1994, with Lincoln and subsequently joined Lighthouse Wales in 2000.  After a brief spell of time with the Sunday Group he re-joined Martin and Simon to head up the Mortgage department for Lightblue Wales working out of the Barry office.

Elaine Hogg - Administrator

In 1974 Elaine commenced employment with W.H.C.S.A. In Cardiff as an office junior working with costing’s and payments for dispensing prescriptions.  She went on to become a section leader and also trained new employees.  In 1986 Elaine finished working to start a family.  In 1990 she recommenced work as a Doctor's receptionist in a large practice and also did accountancy work for the nursery her two children attended. July 2000 Martin and Simon opened a new finance company - Lightblue IFA - where she is currently employed as a mortgage administrator.

Julie Osborne - Administrator

After her A Levels and college Julie joined Imperial Life Assurance Company of Canada in Cardiff as an office administrator.  This company was eventually taken over by Laurentine Life who were then taken over by Lincoln.  She then Left Lincoln to have her first daughter (having met her husband Simon Osborne at Imperial Life) and after a career break (during which she had another daughter!) she joined Lightblue IFA at it’s inception running the mortgage department.
